Accelerated Reader Lists!

If you've been wishing you could see a list of all the Accelerated Reader books available in the Media Center, click here. The list is a bit dated--Burroughs recently purchased new sets and the books are now labeled. We'll be updating the list to include the new books as soon as volunteer time allows, and creating a permanent link on the Media page.

Site Council Budget Survey

Last Thursday, you should have received a Parent Budget Survey from the Site Council in your student's backpack. If you didn't get one, you can print out a copy here. Please submit one completed survey per family by Thursday, March 9.

You can hear all about the results at the PTA meeting on Tuesday, March 14.

Staff Development

Curious about what the teachers are doing on those days "off"? Last Friday our teachers were learning how to help our kids make connections in science and reading. You can read more about Friday's staff development day on the district's site.

Pre-Caucus Training Saturday

Many people in the Burroughs community got involved with state politics last year as we lobbied the Legislature for school funding. A great way to continue your involvement is to show up at your precinct caucus on Tuesday.

If you want a heads-up on what to expect at a caucus and would like more information about education policy, you can attend a special pre-caucus training session on Saturday at Mayflower Church at 1:00. State representative Jean Wagenius will be conducting the session. For more information on the session, or to read more about what goes on at a caucus, take a look at the Parents United Web site.
