Burroughs School Fund

This year is not a year for new monies to be appropriated to schools by the Legislature. In planning for next year, we already know that funding will not be going up. Our staff and Site Council work especially hard to keep these cuts from affecting students. By contributing to the Burroughs School Fund you can do your part to insure that key programs are sustained. This year for example, our primary goal was to reduce class size for reading and math.

The Burroughs School Fund was created to insure the continuation of quality programs for Burroughs Community School students. Our goal is to raise $30,000 this year for that purpose. Your gift in any amount, whether $5 or $500 or more, is critically important.

Watch your mailbox for information on this year's Burroughs School Fund campaign. Here is how you can participate:

  1. Donate online using your credit card. Please remember to designate the Burroughs School Fund.
  2. Donate by check payable to Achieve! Minneapolis and indicate Burroughs School Fund in the memo. Send checks to: Burroughs School Fund, Achieve! Minneapolis, 111 3rd Ave S, Suite 5, Minneapolis, MN 55401
  3. Make a gift through the United Way by designating your gift to Achieve! Minneapolis - Burroughs School Fund.
  4. Make a gift of appreciated stock by following the instructions on the Achieve! Minneapolis website or calling Janet at Achieve at 612-455-1530.
  5. Ask your employer to match your personal gift by enclosing your company's gift matching form along with your check.

For questions please contact: Jackie Krammer at 827-5559 or Vince Thomas at 823-0891.
