Third Grade Parents: How to Volunteer

Is your child entering third grade this year? If you're a third grade parent who is interested in volunteering, check out Mr. Kroening's blog entry for Thursday, August 25. He'll be serving as the volunteer coordinator for all four third grade classrooms and has a list of the many ways you can be more involved with your child's class.

Challenge Curriculum/Advanced Placement

As Mr. Cadotte mentioned in the Welcome letter sent out last week, Burroughs is launching two new programs to serve students working above grade level. We will be learning more about these programs as well as the remedial program once school starts in September. But if you'd like a head start, we have posted an overall mission statement as well as outlines of the programs by grade level:
Remember that these parent guides are drafts--you'll get much more detailed information once we're all back at school, and especially at the curriculum nights being held the week of September 19.

Teacher Wish Lists Are Here!

The teacher wish lists are now available on the website! Click on the link to view the lists! Some teachers submitted individual lists and there are also several grade level lists that apply to all the teachers for that grade. If your teacher is not listed then they have not yet submitted a list.

Simply print out or jot down items from any of the lists and purchase them when you do your back to school shopping! Then give the items to the teachers when school starts! Remember, these lists are in addition to the required school supply lists that each student must provide at the beginning of the year! Any questions, call or e-mail Leslie Maynard at 922-3179 or lfmaynard@hotmail.com. Thank you for supporting the Burroughs teachers and students!
